Folly.

Last night the band played a friend of a friend's wedding. Admittedly, the friend who shall from here on out be called Johnathon, is someone who I have had a crush on for many years. He was never into me, though. For the record, the crush feelings (for whatever reason) are gone now. So last night at the wedding, Johnathon was talking to the bride and the bride's mother while we were playing. Johnathon pointed to me and told the bride's mother that I was his friend. The bride's mother then said, "Oh yeah? I hear she has a thing for you."

Embarrassing. I have never even spoken to the woman and somehow she knows about my former unrequited love.

Rejection

Today I asked a guy out. I have considered dating him for a long time, but was always too scared for whatever reason. I wasn't scared of rejection because I was fairly certain that he was interested in me (he touched my butt once while we were dancing (also, other reasons)). Perhaps I was scared that things might actually work out with him or I was scared to hurt him. I'm not about to psychoanalyze it. The point of this blog is that he said he was going on a date with someone else who he really likes. And while he thinks I am beautiful and talented, he doesn't think we're compatible.

Rough.

Master Dating

Another day, another failed attempt at a relationship. I know what you're thinking. "How could this girl be single? She's pretty alright looking. She has a respectable job. She's in an internationally known band. She has really cute pets." Trust me, you aren't thinking things I haven't already thought. It's a mystery.

But this time I'm coming back full force. I reopened my OkCupid account, joined a gym (I heard people meet people to date at the gym) and dyed my hair blonde (new beginnings?). I'm going to date outside of my "type" (I may even date a man that doesn't have tattoos and isn't in a band!). I'm going to be the Master Dater.
